Couples Therapy
Improve communication & restore intimacy.
You love each other, but it’s not easy right now.
Relationships are built on love, trust, and connection—but sometimes, even the strongest bonds face challenges. You may find yourself feeling disconnected, arguing more often, or struggling to navigate changes in your lives. These moments can feel overwhelming and leave you questioning how to move forward.
This doesn’t mean your love is broken. It means you’re human. Relationships are complex, and it’s normal to face challenges along the way. The good news? With the right support, you can turn these challenges into opportunities for growth and connection.
You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:
- The same arguments, the same misunderstandings, the same feelings of frustration or distance—it’s exhausting.
- You’ve tried to fix things on your own, but no matter what you do, the cycle keeps repeating.
- You might feel like you’re walking on eggshells, avoiding conflict, or just going through the motions. Deep down, you want to break free, but you’re not sure how.

Couples therapy can help you find your way back to each other.
HOW I CAN HELP
My work with couples is primarily rooted in The Gottman Method, a highly effective, research-based approach to couples therapy. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, it is grounded in over four decades of research on what makes relationships work—and what causes them to break down.
In Gottman Method Couples Therapy, the focus is on helping you:
- Strengthen the friendship at the core of your relationship.
- Improve communication so you can express your needs and feelings clearly.
- Navigate conflict in a way that brings resolution instead of disconnection.
- Build trust and foster emotional and physical intimacy.
- Create shared goals and a deeper sense of partnership.
IMAGINE IF YOU…
- Felt truly understood and supported by your partner.
- Could talk about difficult topics without it turning into an argument.
- Rebuilt trust and healed from past pain together.
- Shared laughter and connection like you used to.
- Faced challenges as a team, knowing you had each other’s back.
- Felt confident in your relationship’s ability to grow and thrive.
I WANT YOU TO KNOW:
Change is possible.
Let’s work together to create the relationship you both deserve.
Common questions about couples therapy
Is couples therapy only for married or long-term couples?
Not at all! Couples therapy is for any relationship, whether you’re dating, engaged, married, or in a long-term partnership. It’s about strengthening your bond, no matter your stage in the relationship.
Will my insurance cover for couples therapy?
Most insurance plans do not cover couples or marriage counseling. Health insurance generally only covers treatments considered “medically necessary” for a diagnosed mental health condition, and relationship challenges on their own typically do not meet this criteria. However, it’s a good idea to contact your insurance provider directly to inquire about your mental health or behavioral health benefits.
What does the process of starting couples therapy look like?
- We’ll begin with a 90-minute long joint session, where I’ll gather detailed information about your relationship history and the challenges you’re currently facing. During this time, I may observe how you interact, including moments of conflict or stuck patterns. This session is followed by a relationship checkup, which is a more formal evaluation of your relationship.
Then, I’ll meet with each of you individually for 50 minutes. This is your opportunity to share anything that feels difficult to say in front of your partner. During this time, I’ll also gather a more detailed personal history from each of you.
We’ll come back together for a 50-minute joint session to review the feedback I’ve compiled from all the information gathered so far. By this point, we’ll have a clearer understanding of where you are, where you want to be, and what it will take to get there.
